Aneckxander is the “tragic autobiography of a body”: Alexander Vantournhout’s body, which is exposed naked – wearing only boxing gloves and platform shoes – to the gaze of the Other. Through bizarre developments, Aneckxander / Alexander moves along the fine line between empathy and revulsion, candidly revealing his vulnerability and loneliness.
The second solo of the evening is Object, once again a reflection of a body – this time female. From time to time seducing, challenging, denying and then offering herself through progressive acceleration to public scrutiny, the performer seeks a dialogue with her audience, making it sway restlessly between emotional and conflictual involvement.
