Neapolitan born in 1979, judge and scholar of international law, Eduardo Savarese began writing in 2006 with the story Cicatrici in the collection La città difficile (Ippogrifo). Followed by Ostie consacrate in the collection Fughe ed altri racconti (Giulio Perrone, 2009), and Il rumore dei tacchi in the collection Un tappo nelle nuvole ed altri racconti (AMP, 2007), with which he was a finalist for the Arturo Loria award in 2007. In 2009 he published the essay In scena en travesti. Viaggio nel mondo del travestitismo nell’arte (Croce) in which he identifies and analyses transvestitism in lyrical opera. In 2010 he was a finalist for the Italo Calvino award, mentioned by the judges for his novel L’amore assente from which Non passate per il sangue (Edizioni e/o) was created. Le inutili vergogne, his latest novel, is a provocative and authentic work, with strong characters, obsessed by sex and the fear of sin. Masculine, feminine and transsexual bodies decline the diversities of love, telling their lives which apparently seem to have failed because they have lost love.
