In altre parole – dizionario minimo di diversità
Fabrizio Acanfora’s book presentation and conversation with Elisa Coco.
Words and their meanings are important. This is the idea presented by Fabrizio Acanfora, who published with Effequ a collection of words of the Italian language associated with the vision of diversity: an emotional dictionary that goes beyond the literal definition of terms, a definition that is often twisted if compared with their original meaning, in order to demonstrate that language has an influence on the various forms of diversity. Starting from the neurodiversity that the autistic author knows deeply, up to the cultural and gender differences related to different types of physical function, the book is a stimulus to learn how to value the unique characteristics of each individual.
Fabrizio Acanfora (Naples, 1975) won the National Prize for scientific dissemination of the CNR in 2019 with his book Eccentrico (effequ 2018). He is a musician and maker of musical instruments. He collaborates with the Catalan Institute of Music Therapy in the development of new therapeutic methods for people with autism and is coordinator and professor of the Master in Music Therapy at the University of Barcelona. He talks about neuroatypicality andinclusiveness on his Eccentrico Facebook page and on his blog fabrizioacanfora.eu.
