Lonely Stars (Estrellas solitarias)

In a sordid and grotesque Mexico, the two friends and drag queens Valentina (Dana Karvelas) and Joana (Jorge Arriaga) struggle to fulfil their dreams: the first wants to become a successful pop singer, the second wants to celebrate with style – as an adult – a lavish party for his sixteenth birthday that his family has always denied him. They are both willing to do anything to reach their goals, even to the point of putting their friendship at risk. Along the lines of a John Waters’ film, a surreal and irreverent comedy that mixes soap opera and violence, romance and trash.
