MALA MALA

A fascinating journey through the Puerto Rican transgender community, told through the stories of its protagonists and their daily life, made up of political activism on the streets and in TV (by the transsexual Ivana), performances in clubs (by the drag queens Alberic and Queen Bee), prostitution (Sandy), and the desire for normality. There is also who, like Paxx, has grown in a woman’s body but inside feels a man, or Soraya, who was one of the pioneers of sex change in Puerto Rico, yet refuses to calls herself “transsexual”. A documentary that is also an anthem to solidarity and an invitation to fight against all forms of discrimination.
