Twenty-five years after the death of Pier Vittorio Tondelli, and seven of that of Filippo Betto, their friend and traveling companion Mario Fortunato tells of their happy and unhappy relationship.
The Eighties: music, books, drugs, sex, love, friendship, illness, goodbyes. “I understood then something very simple and painful: of all three of us, I was left alone, to make that famous step towards the unknown territory of our past. Pier and Filippo were no longer with me, and I had to accept that fact.”
Mario Fortunato is a literary critic for “L’Espresso” and opinionist for “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. His latest works are Le voci di Berlino (Bompiani, 2014) and Tre giorni a Parigi (Bompiani, 2016).
