SAN CRISTÓBAL + RADIANT SEA (Lichtes Meer)
Before leaving for Canada, the young Lucas goes to visit his sister, who lives on an island in the South of Chile. There he meets a fisherman of his own age, Antonio, and the two of them fall in love. It will be an opportunity for both of them to grow and open up to new horizons, together finding the courage to deal with the prejudices of a community locked in its rural universe. Intimate, realistic and moving, Zúñiga Hidalgo’s film won the Teddy Award for Best Short Film at the 2015 Berlinale.

In search of freedom, Marek leaves his family farm, in Western Pomerania, and goes on a long journey that will first take him to Dunkerque and then to Saint-Nazaire, where he boards a merchant ship heading to Martinique, with Jean, a sailor. On board, passion overwhelms the two of them. Radiant Sea is a film that tells of the journey, across the Atlantic. of human and sentimental growth, using an original documentary style: suspended in space on board a ship, where the beautiful landscapes of the sea and the continuously visited ports mirror – and sometimes counterpoint – the inner torments of the main characters.
