Simon Mayer, an Austrian choreographer, revisits in Sons of Sissy folk dance and music of his country. Four performers play and dance live traditional alpine music: the group choreographies of folkloric dances are reworked in an ironic way, in order to break the traditional obsolete male-centred models and free all the aesthetic potential.

For the show, a group of young dancers (dance companion) will go with the audience, inviting the spectators towatch the show, then discuss and share their impressions right after watching it: an initiative of the Europeanproject Pivot Dance by Centro per la Scena Contemporanea of Bassano del Grappa along with the contemporarydance three-year course of Balletto di Roma.
