THE FALLING

England, 1969. Abbie and Lydia, both sixteen and best friends forever, attend a strict girls’ school. Abbie is charismatic and rebellious, and all the girls (Lydia in particular) are both fascinated by her and attracted to her. After a tragic event, strange symptoms and continuous spells of fainting spread like a mysterious epidemic, first affecting the students and then affecting the teachers. The teaching staff try to minimize the situation and bring it back to normal, but Lydia opposes them.
A subtly unnerving and suspense-filled atmosphere which is reminiscent of Picnic at Hanging Rock; a film that offers an intense and sometimes melodramatic portrait of the emotional troubles and tangles of adolescence. With Greta Scacchi and Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones).
