Tondelli, dalla generazione all’individuo
Olga Campofreda’s book presentation and conversation with Luca Starita
An evening that will be entirely dedicated to the writer Pier Vittorio Tondelli through two performative readings and the presentation of the book by Olga Campofreda, Dalla Generazione all’individuo (Mimesis, 2020): a research on the myths and mythology about youth in the novels of the Italian writer that aims at looking into the queer and non-normative elements in his works, starting from Altri Libertini up to Camere Separate. One of the performative readings, by Luca Starita and Olga Campofreda, will be taken from a play written by Tondelli himself, which was staged only once, in the summer of 1978.
Olga Campofreda is a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University College London. She works in the field of youth studies, gender studies and contemporary Italian literature. Her articles have been published in La Balena Bianca, minima&moralia, Doppiozero, and L’ultimo Uomo. She published the literary guide A San Francisco con Lawrence Ferlinghetti (Perrone, 2019). Her last essay is Dalla generazione all’individuo: giovinezza, identità eimpegno nell’opera di Pier Vittorio Tondelli (From the generation to the individual: youth, identity and commitment inthe work of Pier Vittorio Tondelli, Mimesis, 2020)
Luca Starita (Naples, 1988) graduated in Italian Studies at the University of Bologna with a thesis on queer issues in Aldo Palazzeschi’s fiction. He collaborates in numerous literary magazines and is the author of the novel La tesi dell’ippocampo (Bookabook, 2019) and of the two plays Quanta strada nelle mie Scarpe (2018) and Caleidoscopio (2019), which were written for the Murmuris theater company.

In case of bad weather, the presentation will be held at the DAMSLab Auditorium, piazzetta P.P. Pasolini 5/b, Bologna.

It is also mandatory to have a mask to be worn in case of assembly or entry into indoor spaces.
In compliance with health safety regulations, each event will have a limited number of seats and it is necessary to purchase tickets in advance for dance performances and film screenings, as well as to reserve seats for book presentations and workshops.
The artistic programming and the organization of this edition of Gender Bender pay particular attention to health safety regulations in order to protect the health and well-being of all people together. In the spaces of the festival it is necessary to respect the physical distance, have with you and wear the mask in all movements. Once you have taken your seat you can remove the mask. Hand sanitizers will be available to the public.
