Where are you going, Habibi? (Wo willst du hin, Habibi?)
Ibrahim (Cem Alkan), the son of Turkish immigrants who moved to Berlin, has just graduated, making his family proud of him. But he has a secret: he is gay. When he falls in love with Alexander (Martin Walde), a German (heterosexual) man devoted to wrestling and crime, he is willing to do anything to crown an impossible love story. Iben’s film disassociates identity stereotypes faced by immigrants and gays as well as the victim-offender dichotomy: Ibrahim knows what he wants and plays with the expectations that society casts on him, doggedly following his dreams of freedom.
