A delicate and touching story about the growth of an elementary school class in Rome, whose journey was followed by the director for five years. The class gathers from time to time around a circle that promotes mutual relationship, discussion and continuous self-discovery, dealing with universal questions. The children’s view of the world and their words to describe it are absolute protagonists of this amazing documentary winner of the David di Donatello award 2023.

Sophie Chiarello is an Italian-French director; he grew up in France and graduated from FEMIS in Paris. She writes and directs three short films that have won awards at various festivals. Un filo intorno al mondo was a Nastri d’Argento finalist in 2006. She then collaborated on the direction of the film La banda dei babbi natale by Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo and directed his debut Ci vuole un gran fisico. He subsequently decides to dedicate himself to documentaries. Il Cerchio, of which she is the author and director, is her second documentary.
