Guilherme Miotto

Guilherme Miotto (1979) is a Dutch/Brazilian dancer, teacher and choreographer. He studied dance in Brazil, Russia, Germany and the Netherlands. As a dancer he has taken part in choreographies by Emio Greco, Bruno Listopad, Krisztina de Chatel. He has created choreographies for Festival Boulevard, Festival Circolo, Festival Lieve Stad, Dansgroep Amsterdam, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, CaDance Festival, Frictions Festival (Hasselt, Belgium), Yorkshire Dance (Leeds). Since 2009, he has been teaching his “Instinctive Performance” approach at Maastricht Theatre Academy and Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg. He has also been invited to give workshops at the Atelier de Paris, the OperaEstate Festival and the Edinburgh Festival, among others. In 2017, he founded the company: Corpo Máquina Society (Tilburg/Breda). His choreographic work has received the following awards: the 2011 Kontrapunkt Grand Prix, the Magnolia Award (Szczecin, Poland), and the Best Film for Camera Rework Award at the Cinedans Film Festival. He received the André Gingras Award in 2015. In 2016 he received the Incentive Award for Outstanding and Promising Talent from the municipality of Breda. In 2019 he received the largest theater prize in the Netherlands, the Gieskes-Strijbs Theater Prize.
