FUCK ME BLIND
A show by Matteo Sedda
Italy, 30ʼ
Winner of DNAppunti coreografici 2024

FUCK ME BLIND is a choreographic duet inspired by Blue, Derek Jarman’s testamentary film.
In this work, Jarman turns his imminent death from AIDS-related complications into the ultimate, active drive for existence. On stage, two bodies mirror each other in circular, centrifugal movements, drawing closer until they finally grasp and shape one another.
Blue light—another reference to Jarman’s film—creates the space and time for the performers to meet and merge, generating a hypnotic experience where their bodies intertwine within a homoerotic landscape.

Biographical note
Matteo Sedda is a choreographer, dancer, and activist from Sardinia. He has collaborated, and continues to work as a freelancer, with artists such as Jan Fabre, Enzo Cosimi, Aïda Gabriëls, Igor x Moreno, and Dag Taeldeman & Andrew Van Ostade. Since 2018, Sedda has pursued choreographic research deeply shaped by his experience with HIV. Exploring desire and vulnerability, his work seeks to create new representations of AIDS that renew the dialogue between historical memory and artistic reworking. After his first solo, POZ!—a political and artistic manifesto born from his coming out as a person living with HIV—he continued his journey with FUCK ME BLIND, a duet that won the DNAppunti Coreografici 2024 award.
As an activist, he shares his personal experience to provide information and support around HIV. He collaborates with several European organizations, including LILA, Sensoa, Ex Aequo, and Plateforme Prévention Sida.
