AVANT-DRAG!
a film by Fil Ieropoulos
Greece, 2024, 92’
v.o. Italian subtitles

Avant-Drag! blends fiction and documentary, the literal and the metaphorical, to portray ten drag performers from Athens who, through art and performance, seek to transcend a hostile reality.
It stands as a testament to how the drag community and art can carve out safe spaces for all marginalized people, while continuing the fight against patriarchy, nationalism, racism, and sexism—with a sharp edge of radical irony.
