The Brink of Dreams follows a group of young women from a small village in Upper Egypt over the course of four years. In a conservative, stagnant environment, the protagonists defy tradition and their families’ rigidity to pursue their dream of creating an all-female street theatre company: Panorama El Barsha.
Their performances is a vibrant reimagining of moments of intimacy and mutual trust: drawing on their own personal experiences, the six friends confront issues such as child marriage, the suffocating weight of family and social expectations, and the shared claustrophobia that binds them—and their peers in the audience.

Accessibility
Nada Riyadh is an Egyptian filmmaker. Her first feature-length documentary, Happily Ever After, co-directed with Ayman El Amir, premiered at IDFA 2016. Her short film The Trap was selected for the official competition of the Semaine de la Critique at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. She has participated in several international film programs, including La Fabrique in Cannes, Next Step Program La Semaine de la Critique, Berlinale talents, American Film Showcase, and Film Independent.
Ayman El Amir is an Egyptian filmmaker. His recent work includes co-directing, with Nada Riyadh, the documentary Happily Ever After and producing the short film The Trap. He has worked as a script consultant for numerous workshops and institutes, including TorinoFilmLab, Doha Film Institute, Marrakesh Atlas Atelier, DW Academy, and Full Circle Lab.
