A QUIET LOVE
A film by Garry Keane
Ireland, 2026, 96′
v.o. italian subtitles

In this intimate documentary by multi-award-winning director Garry Keane, three deaf couples share their extraordinary love stories through Irish Sign Language. The film brings together the story of John and Agnes, who were born during the conflict in Northern Ireland and overcame both the war and the religious divisions imposed by their families, with that of Kathy and Michelle, a lesbian couple navigating IVF and the difficult decision of whether their deaf daughter should receive a cochlear implant. Finally, there are Deyanna and Seán, a boxer with a troubled past who is pursuing the dream of turning professional – a dream complicated by the very hearing aid that allows them to hear.
