Perhaps AGE is about adolescence. Perhaps it is about the way we see adolescence. Or about the way adolescence looks back at us, questioning and imagining the very nature of what we call reality. This documentary, directed by Bruno Leggieri, follows the creative process from auditions to the debut of nine teenagers, who are both the protagonists and the vibrant essence of CollettivO CineticO’s production AGE. Under the microscope, an imaginary atlas of habitats, specimens and behaviours takes shape. As they learn to expose themselves, make themselves visible and define themselves, it is they who look back at us, returning a gaze that makes the present vibrate, “with its vertigo, its cracks, its contradictions and its searing poetry.
