Ava Anna Ada. Meeting with writer Ali Millar
Presentation of the new book by Ali Millar

We are happy to announce this second talk as part of Aspettando Gender Bender, the series of meetings with authors in anticipation of the 23rd edition of the festival.
For this meeting, writer Ali Millar comes to Bologna to present Ava Anna Ada, her narrative debut: a visceral and powerful novel, described as “unforgettable and relentless” by the Scotsman and “furiously original” by The Herald.
Ava Anna Ada is about the sudden, unbridled desire that overwhelms Anna, a wealthy 40-year-old married woman with a child, and Ava, a troubled teenager who prostitutes herself to support her mother, in a remote location between England and Scotland. A dark tale with a hint of black humor that combines social media and mourning, bodies and obsession, in a tale that has already been compared to the atmospheres of Ottessa Moshfegh, Ian McEwan and Virginie Despentes.
An event not to be missed to discover the incandescent and highly lucid voice of a new protagonist of the international literary scene.
Rita Monticelli dialogues with the author.
