Meeting with the writer Giuseppe Caputo

1 appointment

On March 10th, Giuseppe Caputo, one of the most radical and recognizable voices in contemporary Latin American fiction, returns to Bologna.

A Colombian writer and professor, Caputo has built a body of work that focuses on marginalized bodies, desire, social violence, and the possibility of tenderness within landscapes marked by inequality. In his novels—Mondo orfano and Stella madre, published in Italy by Polidoro Editore—intimacy becomes a political act and language becomes a space for resistance, between cruelty and compassion.

He will be in conversation with Ariase Barretta, who has been working for years on narratives that challenge normative identities.

The meeting, organized in collaboration with Gender Bender Festival, La Confraternita dell’Uva, the book lab Readondante, and Polidoro Editore, will be an opportunity to chat with the author about the themes that run through his work: the family as an ambiguous space, marginality as an existential and political condition, desire as a force that breaks down hierarchies and opens up unexpected possibilities.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, March 10th, at 7:30 p.m. at circolo Ruozi, in Via Castelmerlo 13!
