Ane Lan
Ane Lan is the stage name of Norwegian artist Eivind Reierstad and his company, which investigates the relationship between gender/identity and history/society. His references range from Guy Debord to Jean Baudrillard and Dany Robert Dufort, and his stage actions produce portraits of silence, estrangement, incongruity and, at the same time, icy political verdicts. Ane Lan’s works, short-lived performances in which she is always the protagonist, evoke a sense of mysterious, disarming honesty, playing mostly on voyeurism and the spectator’s identification. She has participated in international film, performance and theater festivals, as well as exhibitions in galleries and museums such as: The Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC, Paco das Artes, São Paulo, the 51st Venice Biennale, the 10th Istanbul Biennale, The Barbican in London, etc. Reierstad is currently working under the name A-PROJECT.
