Ann Liv Young

Ann Liv Young is a New York-based choreographer and performer. She attended the prestigious Hollins University dance program and has been a resident at the FUSED program in France and the Laban Centre in London. In her shows, for which she is a producer, author, performer and set designer, she manages to create a deep connection with her audience. Trash and depth, bare flesh and gender awareness, flagellation and redemption, chaos and order: her works deconstruct pop culture stereotypes, interpret fairy tales in a very peculiar way or tell the biographies of historical figures. Not infrequently, to land on the ground of desolate reality, he unsettles his audience by provoking them, embarrassing them and transcending the boundaries of intimacy. Young has taken his work to some of the world’s most important festivals and venues, including P.S 1 Contemporary Art Center, Brooklyn Museum, The Kitchen, Dance Theatre Workshop, P.S. 122, Judson Church, Impulstanz, Tanz Im August, Springdance and Laban Centre London.
