Beth Cassani

Beth Cassani is a dramaturg and choreographer, and a senior lecturer on the BA dance and MA choreography programmes at Leeds Beckett University. As an artist mentor and dramaturg she works extensively with independent dance artists and companies to develop their practices. Recent work has included workshops and mentoring on the Performing Gender project with partner organizations and artists from five European countries. Beth is also a pedagogic mentor and consultant. Her award winning, independent and commissioned choreography has toured internationally. She is currently making the work G.O.A.T/The Faun Project in collaboration with Joseph Mercier, which will begin touring at SLAP Festival York Theatre Royal this year. She convenes at the Questioning the Contemporary symposia and PaR events, and co-edited a special issue of Choreographic Practices Journal in 2016 (7:1). Beth co-directed Writing Talking Festival at B Motion Festival 2018 in Italy, a project that develops critical dialogue around current choreographic practice.
