Carlotta Sagna
Carlotta Sagna began dancing in the company of her mother, Anna Sagna, and then began her professional training at the Monte-Carlo Ballet School and from 1981 to 1983 at Mudra in Brussels. She worked from 1988 to 1990 with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker dancing for the Rosas company in three of her shows, Ottone Ottone, Stella and Achterland1. She then joined Jan Lauwers’ Needcompany in 1993 with whom she collaborated for ten years, creating the choreographic parts of several shows. She created her first solo choreography A Trio: A in 2002 as part of Needcompany. In 2005 she founded her own company in France, where she has been working ever since. In 2009 she and her sister Caterina Sagna decided to join forces by founding a joint company, Compagnie Caterina & Carlotta Sagna.
