Eleonora Danco
Eleonora Danco, is an Italian actress, playwright, theater director and film director. For her debut film, “N-Capace,” she was nominated for the David di Donatello for best first-time director, the Nastro d’argento for best first-time director and the Globo d’oro for best first feature. She received two jury special mentions for best film and best ensemble cast at the Turin Film Festival, THE Golden Ciak “Bello & Invisibile,” and the March 2015 Film of the Critics award from the Italian Film Critics Union. Born in Rome, at the age of six she moved with her family to Terracina. After high school she attended Gigi Proietti’s school and worked briefly with Vittorio Gassman’s company. In 1998 she made her debut as producer, author and performer of the play Ragazze al muro. In 2000, the play Nessuno ci guarda won the Casalbuttano festival. She then writes, produces, directs and performs shows for Teatro Stabile di Napoli (Ero purissima), Ambra Jovinelli (Me vojo sarva’), Piccolo Eliseo (La giornata infinita), Teatro India (dEVERSIVO). In 2014 he wrote, directed, and co-starred in his first film N-CAPACE, produced by Rai Cinema and Mibac, BIBI Film. N-CAPACE won two special mentions in official competition at the 32nd Turin Film Festival, was designated Best Film by the Italian Film Critics Union 2015, as well as a candidate for the David di Donatello and Nastri D’argento. She has designed and directs workshops for professional actors and teenagers. As an actress she has worked with Daniele Luchetti, Nanni Moretti, Cristina Comencini, Marco Bellocchio, Michele Placido, Gabriele Muccino, Pupi Avati, Ettore Scola, among others. A columnist writer for the newspaper il Messaggero, 2007. dEVERSIVO is her new work produced by Teatro di Roma in 2017.
