Francesca Foscarini

Francesca Foscarini is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. Her creations includes “Kalsh” (Anticorpi XL 2009, selected by Visionaries 2010), “Singing on Bones” (Anticorpi XL 2011, Mas Danza Prize 2012, Aerowaves 2012 selection), “Grandmother” (Equlibrio Performer Prize 2013), “Gut Gift” (2014), created with Yasmeen Godder, “Vocation to Asymmetry” (Aerowaves 2016 selection), “Good Lack” (2016), triptych about absence, “Animal” (Venice Biennale Dance 2018), solo created for Romain Guion and inspired by the work of Antonio Ligabue, Oro. “L’arte di resistere” (2018) commissioned by CSC Bassano del Grappa, created together with Cosimo Lopalco and the dancers of Dance Well – movement and research for Parkinson’s.
As a performer she works for Yasmeen Godder (Two Playful Pink, Simple Action), previously with Alessandro Sciarroni (Folk-s), Marco D’Agostin (Per non svegliare i draghi addormentati) Roberto Castello (Il migliore dei mondi possibili), Ullallà Teatro Animazione.
As a teacher she collaborates regularly with the Voll in Vicenza and occasionally with the Tanzhaus in Zurich, Il Balletto di Roma, CSC in Bassano del Grappa, and Spazio Danza in Cagliari. Among the workshops she leads is the interdisciplinary project LANDing conceived together with Cosimo Lopalco and Gli animali che dunque siamo, inspired by the practices that led to the creation of Animale.
In 2003, together with Marco D’Agostin and Giorgia Nardin, she founded the cultural association VAN.
She wins in 2015 the Positano Prize as “Dancer of the year on the contemporary scene” and in 2018 ex-aequo the Danza&Danza Prize as “emerging choreographer” for the creations “Animale and Oro. L’arte di resistere”.
