Gudrun De Chirico
Gudrun De Chirico0, graduate at Dams in Bologna, dancer-performer, visual artist, curator and art critic, translator (bilingual-Italian/German), has written for the daily L’ Unità, the art magazines Meta, Zeta, Inside, Art in Italy and for the Swiss week Cooperazione. Between 2001-2007, she attended a professional specialization course in ModernCreative Dance at the Centro Studi Danza Chorea in Bologna, founded and directed by Nicoletta Sacco.
Since 2000, she has been pursuing the personal project of “art in movement”-principally at the spaces of Centro Studi Danza Chorea in Bologna-with which she rereads past and contemporary art history through body language. In 2008 he is a guest with “art in movement/re-narratizing Marina Abramovic” at the Theater of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna within the course of extramedia techniques taught by Lelio Aiello. From 2016 to 2017, in Cureglia (CH) under the patronage of the municipality, he led the weekly course “Bambini in scena,” a creative workshop for elementary schools that travels through the stimuli of theater, art and dance. In 2018, he began a collaboration with the LAC (cultural center of the city of Lugano), Edu department, with monthly “Children on Stage” meetings based on the museum’s permanent collection.
Starting in 2010, after the birth of her son Ruben, she creates together with him several staged performances: in 2010, the performance “Mother/Mutter” as part of the 10th edition of the International Festival on Contemporary Performance in Bologna promoted by Xing. Also since 2010, she regularly participates at the Lugano Poetry Festival Poestate (with poems by Lorenzo Buccella, Ruben’s father): in 2010 with the performance “Latte in polvere” together with musicians Luigi Mosso and Edoardo Marraffa); in 2011 with “Family Card,” in 2012 with “Cantilene della crisi,” in 2013 with “Ninna Nanna Atomica,” in 2014 with “L’almanacco delle paure,” “Una vita da pop corn” (2015), “Infanzia remix” (2016), “Incontri ravvicinati del terzo tipo” (2017), “Astronauti di ritorno” (2018). In 2019 he exhibits at MACRO-Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Roma the video “Un buco nello stomaco-A hole in the stomach and at the exhibition ’L’infinito” in Rome (curators: Fabio Milani, Francesca Anedda, Roberta Melasecca) for the Miami New Media Festival. In 2020, she participated in the online project (a dancing metropolis) for the International Sculpture Book Biennial at its Second Edition and titled “EXPLOIT,” curated by Gabi Minedi, Patrizio Maria, Sandro Bongiani, Joe Gabriel Walsh. (In 2020 he was supposed to participate in the exhibition L’Evento (Feast of Art and Artists) that was to be held at Villa Ada-Rome in the summer during the event “Villa Ada Meets the World” and was canceled for Covid 19). In August 2020 she is present at the exhibition “MATER NOSTRA” (Images, matter, signs of women in art)-curated by Franco Cipriano-for “Artlante, studies and initiatives for contemporary art,” Palazzo Ferrari, spaces for art and culture, Parabita (Lecce). In 2020 she participated in the fifth edition of Rome Art Week with the work “Lockdown.”
