Sandra Cavallini
Sandra Cavallini, received her scientific high school diploma (1982) and university diploma of Rehabilitation Therapist (1987), at the Regional School of Policlinico S. Orsola directed by Prof. Menarini, specialization in Global Postural Rehabilitation, R.P.G. Champ Clos, with Prof Ph. E. Souchard. Working in the maternal-child sector, she refined her observation to the symbology of movement (Lapierre, Aucouturier approach) and the expressive, communicative and empathic tools that are at the heart of the dynamics between body, language and relationship. She later graduated with a degree in Scenography from the Accademia di belle Arti in Bologna.
She had her first theater experiences in the Bologna of the 1980s and thanks to the encounter with research theater between Turin and Brescia, she had several masters, from Luciano Leonesi, Antonio Fava (of whom she was a pupil then actress and assistant in Italy and abroad in the research and practice of mask theater, from 1988 to ’92), Giorgio De Marchi, maskmaker. She deepened her studies on physical theater with Yves Lebreton (Decroux school), Maria Teresa Di Clemente (Barba-Grotowski training), Philip Radice (Lecoq school). For phonetics and voice techniques, on the other hand, she participated in workshops with Matilde Marullo, Giovanna Giovannini, Germana Giannini. Personal stylistic maturation is intertwined with collaborations with Mauro Piombo and Pietro Mossa, actors and artisans, with Giorgio De Marchi, sculptor and mask maker, and with Elide Melchioni, musician, ethnomusicologist and director of the Farthan Choir.
