Sara Sguotti

Sara Sguotti is a dancer and choreographer born in Padova in 1990. She began her artistic career by attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone and continuing her studies at the Academy of Florence. Since 2012 she has collaborated with Compagnia Virgilio Sieni, Compagnia Anton Lachky and in 2016 she began her journey as a movement assistant for the contemporary circus shows of director Roberto Magro, with whom she creates shows for the circus schools Esac, Codars, Flic. She takes part in the remake of the film Suspiria directed by Luca Guadagnino, signing the choreographies in collaboration with Damien Jalet. Collaborates with Cristina Rizzo, Simona Bertozzi and Company Blu. He is part of the collective LoStabileDiLì. In 2016 he starts together with Nicola Simone Cisternino the project Sa.Ni. Together they sign TUTTUNO and 1-0. His first work, S. Ritual \ S.SOLO wins DNAppunti choreografici in 2017 and debuts at RomaEuropa Festival 2018. In 2019 she also collaborates with Jari Boldrini for Nicola Simone Cisternino’s new creation, Sobotta. Since 2020 he has been collaborating with the Dance Well group from Bassano del Grappa and in 2021 created HOP, a community work, for them. In 2021 she curated the production for the young company OpusBallet, VENTIVENTI with the collaboration of POLIMODA in Florence. In 2022 after being selected to the N.I.D. Platform 2021 in the Open Studios section, she debuted at the Brighton Fringe Festival with S.O.P. In 2021 she won the R.A.T. prize for the creation It’sHardToBeHuman with which she was in residence at K3_Kampnaghel in collaboration with IIC Hamburg. Together with performance writer Arianna Ulian she created CrePa, which was in residence at Tanzhaus Zurich in collaboration with IIC Zurich and was selected for the Open Studios section of N.I.D. Platform 2023 in collaboration and co-production with Nexus and Perypezye Urbane.
