Brutal Casual is the kind of person who goes out in pyjamas and slippers, moves their car, and gets busted. Constructed chaos, deliberate vocal arbitrariness, acoustic harmony: Brutal Casual Magazine, a collaboration between DJ and producer Lady Maru and artist, performer and photographer Jacopo Benassi, is an unpredictable live set drawing on EBM, industrial, synth-punk and noise. The camera, conceived as a musical instrument in its own right, documents the action live, helping to shape its rhythm. Every moment is captured as it unfolds, creating a fanzine made up of images, sounds and slogans.
