MANIFESTUS
A show by Jacopo Jenna
Italia, 40′
Included in Teatro Arcobaleno

In Manifestus, Jacopo Jenna with three performers on a choreography built around hand gestures: how they move, communicate and create. Drawing inspiration from street dance styles such as tutting, fingering, voguing and flexing, the group creates a choreographic flow in constant transformation: passages, pauses and fleeting alliances that shape the space. The hands grasp, point and give form to bodies and thoughts in a rhythm that constantly shifts without ever stopping, creating an abstract, pulsating composition that is at once concrete and open. MANIFESTUS, the Latin word for ‘clear’ or ‘obvious’, contains the word manus (‘hand’). To manifest is a way of saying ‘I AM HERE’: a moment when, together, we capture a fleeting glimpse of reality, caught in the act, and bring it into view for everyone – the public, the square, others.
