MEETING WITH CATHERINE LACEY
In dialogue with Samanta Picciaiola
Interpreting by Martina Testa
With LIS interpretation

Catherine Lacey, one of the boldest voices in contemporary American fiction, is coming to Bologna to take the audience on a journey through her literary universe, which, with ruthless clarity and a feminist perspective, challenges the constraints of gender, identity, the body and power. Her work ranges from the intimate world of Pew, the story of a genderless person and their relationship with the small community that welcomes them, to the acclaimed Biography of X – a fictional queer biography that subverts patriarchal historiography – and her latest book, The Möbius Book. With its two covers and two possible starting points, The Möbius Book invites readers on a fluid journey: whichever way you enter the story, Lacey knows how to turn an existential crisis into an exhilarating adventure in which you are never alone.
