Resilienza Trans
An exhibition by Jul Maroh in collaboration with A occhi aperti. Opening with the author on November 2nd at 4.30 pm
Starting from their personal experience, Jul Maroh, a queer and transgender artist, presents a series of portraits of transgender bodies and iconic people in the queer community as part of their work in RESILIENZA TRANS. The characteristics of the mythological and hybrid figure of Chiron, the wounded healer, run through these images: bows, arrows, crowns, scars, and hooves. The aim of this series of large portraits is to create a narrative that explores new sensory, organic and political experiences. The purpose is to expose the fragility and resilience of trans lives, which are often on the margins of society because their embodiment defies the binary roles imposed by society. As with kintsugi in Japan, the symbolic goal is to restore dignity to these people and heal their wounds with gold bandages
The exhibition, in collaboration with A occhi aperti, will be open from 31 October to 17 November
