S/he is Still Her/e
A movie by Charles Rodrigues
USA, 2024, 101′
original version (english) with italian subtitles (CC)
Genesis P-Orridge, English musician, poet, artist and occultist, was one of the freest and most provocative figures of the 20th century. He founded such seminal artistic experiences as the COUM Transmissions collective and the band Throbbing Gristle, pioneers of industrial music; on his own body he experimented with his wife with surgical operations of “pandrogyny,” mixing the mutual identities to obtain one, the same, as if it were a single work of art. Through archival videos and intimate conversations with the people with whom he shared his life and career, the documentary reveals the legacy of an iconoclast who broke social norms and redefined the boundaries of creative and bodily expression.
