VICINO, VICINISSIMO
A training ground for the concept of transindividuality
Durational performance by Daniele Ninarello and the community of Bologna
Italy, durational

And we were merged into the same pleasure that came both from space and from us…
NUMBERS Philippe Sollers
Conceived by choreographer Daniele Ninarello in collaboration with Gender Bender (of which he is an associate artist for 2025–2027) and in dialogue with the spaces of Esprit Nouveau designed by Le Corbusier—where architecture appears as a system of relationships—Vicino, Vicinissimo reflects on the concept of transindividuality, on existence as a work in progress.
For two weeks, 17 participants inhabited the entire space for a few hours each day—as a shared home, as a studio where they can share movement and performance practices, where they can train together and experiment with alternative ways of relating.
Gathering in a place where every body opens up new visions, generates new spaces, illuminating horizons, and possible futures—where, through a continuous process of interaction between bodies and space, the participants activate a mechanism of correspondences in the same way that the architecture of Esprit Nouveau reveals itself through multiple relationships that prompt us to broaden our gaze, reposition ourselves, and perceive ourselves as deeply united. The totality of these relationships will appear as a continuous flow, a living organism that advances and transforms: a durational performance open to the public on October 24 and 25 at the Esprit Nouveau Pavilion by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in Bologna.
Vicino, Vicinissimo is realized with the support of the Comune di Bologna | Settore Cultura e Creatività, under the framework agreement with the Ministero della Cultura – Direzione Generale Spettacolo, to support live performance activities in outlying areas.
The Vicino, Vicinissimo project takes place as part of Esprit Nouveau Bologna 2025–2027, a program promoted by the Comune di Bologna to celebrate the Esprit Nouveau Pavilion on the centenary of Le Corbusier’s original design.
