WHIP
A show by George Labbat
France, 40′
NATIONAL PREMIERE
With the support of Fondazione Nuovi Mecenati – Fondazione franco-italiana di sostegno alla creazione contemporanea

WHIP places at the center of the stage an object with powerful evocative force: the whip. A symbol of social, animal, colonial, and sexual domination, the whip here becomes an extension of the body—able to liberate, bind, and create.
Its crack, combined with electronic sound, shapes both the musical choreography and the dramaturgy of the piece, defining the distance between audience and performers, who move freely throughout the former church of San Mattia.
WHIP explores the threshold where transgression and constraint coexist, where the very edge of risk draws us in and commands our attention.
