Workshop with TC Howard and Pick-Up Company

1 show for this event

TC Howard is a British choreographer and dancer. In addition to his activity as a professional performer, she deals with educational courses focused on communities, children’s and figure theatre, cinema, and visual arts through site-specific installations and productions. She currently creates focusses on gender and identity for Yorkshire Dance’s Company of People, encouraging exchange, dialogue and shared practice between a wide range of artists and community groups.

Bakani Pick-Up Company, founded in 2018 centres research around practice that elicits ways of being as performance through improvisation. Our aim is to continue with research at the forefront of our making, to annotate and distinguish a methodology that is elastic with curiosity. The work is about the people, what speaks to them and what it means for them to be human. It is a way of delving into the embodied experience of the audience/participant in order to affect change of our socio cultural landscape. We take a humanistic person-centred approach to practice, in doing so creating a diverse modality for choreography and dance technique.
