Stefania Tansini

Stefania Tansini was born in 1991 in Ponte dell’Olio (Pc). After studying artistic gymnastics and ballet, in 2014 she graduated as a dancer at the Scuola D’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi, under the didactic direction of Marinella Guatterini. Of fundamental importance are the meetings with Enzo Cosimi, Dominique Dupuy, Cesc Gelabert, Jonah Bokaer, Maria Consagra.
In 2014 she takes part in Dario Fo and Franca Rame’s show Storia di Q and starts working as a dancer in all Simona Bertozzi’s productions including Animali senza favola (2014), And It Burns Burns Burns (finalist show of the 2017 UBU Danza Prize). In 2016 she starts working with Luca Veggetti for the shows Non essere, una tentazione (2017), Quarto personaggio (2018), L’inferno dello sguardo (2019), Infinito Nero (2021). She is confronted with some video-dance experiences and in 2017 she is called by Romeo Castellucci to take part in the new production Democracy in America and in 2018 in Flauto Magico, opera directed by Castellucci and choreographed by Cindy Van Acker. In 2020, thanks to the Crisol project, she collaborates with choreographer Jayachandram Palazhy and the Indian dancers of the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts.
In 2020 she starts working with Motus, in the production Tutto Brucia and in the solo Of the nightingale I envy the fate. In 2021 she was invited to participate in the ‘Cellule d’Essai’ meeting for young European choreographers, at the Maison de la Danse in Lyon, “to meditate on the nature of the dancer’s work and its processes”. In 2022 she takes part in the performance Body Farm by Silvia Rampelli. She won the Rete e Critica Award for La Grazia del Terribile in 2021 and the Ubu Award for best actress/performer under 35 in 2022.
