Hope Hunt and the ascension into Lazarus
A show by Oona Doherty
with Sati Veyrunes
Northern Ireland | duration 40′
120 seats + 20 standing places
Oona Doherty, winner of the Grand Jury Prize 2021 in Venice and a guest at the Gender Bender Festival 2018, lends her show Hope Hunt to French dancer Sati Veyrunes. Interpreting a male character with multiple masks, it is the performer herself who leads the audience inside the theater to let them participate in a show that swerves between dance and social protest by deconstructing the stereotype of misogynistic masculinity of the Irish working class. Through speech, movement and sound, the show analyzes past and present imaginaries of a Europe that is caught between violence and the need for love.
