Presentation of the book of Chiara Bersani, Dalila Flavia D’Amico e Giulia Traversi
In conversation with Mauro Meneghelli
with LIS interpretation

1 show for this event

Prima di ogni cosa. Per un futuro Crip is a collection of letters: an exchange of thoughts, frustrations and practices of mutual support. The book accompanies the creative process behind two works by artist Chiara Bersani, Michel – The Animals I Am and Left Behind . It brings together reflections on ableism, accessibility and precarity in the performing arts, drawing on the lived experiences of Bersani, researcher Dalila Flavia D’Amico, and dramaturg and manager Giulia Traversi. The three will be at the festival to discuss these themes in a conversation led by the festival’s artistic director Mauro Meneghelli.
Through a crip lens, the book challenges the myth of autonomy, the cult of productivity and the rhetoric of efficiency. It is a dialogue that seeks to rethink the dominant frameworks and make space for a different way of naming the world: another understanding of the body, of care, and of the future.
