RISE
A show by Daniele Ninarello
Italy, 45′
21:30 opening
22:00 performance

Daniele Ninarello’s latest creation, RISE, takes over the ground floor of the Cassero as part of Gender Bender, exploring the relationship between the individual and the collective in search of a shared energy that lifts us up. RISE stems from a physical and poetic exploration of the possibility of embracing the other, allowing their differences to pass through us, transform us and open us up. Five dancers, each with their own weight and inclination, come together and drift apart, creating a dance that does not impose itself, but unfolds like a collective wave, nourished and guided by the live soundscape of internationally renowned musician and performer Dan Kinzelman. Ninarello places his trust in the intelligence of his dancers’ bodies, trained in perceptive and sensitive listening, entrusting them with a choreographic structure made up of full and empty spaces, and spaces for improvisation within a rigorous system of listening and correspondence.
