Vive!
Presentation of Alessandra Sarchi’s book in conversation with Samanta Picciaiola
with LIS interpreter
The heroines of Western literature, from Dido to Ophelia, from Francesca da Rimini to Madame Bovary, are mostly tragic figures doomed to a mournful fate; stories that were almost always written by the pen of men. In this book, published by HarperCollins, Alessandra Sarchi decides to save some of literature’s most famous women from their fatal fate. With an elegant, powerful and sophisticated style, the author brings their voices to life in the first person, turning the spotlight on them, finally setting them free to be able to self-determine.
