Inhabitants: a free dance workshop curated by Luna Cenere
The call for the free dance workshop led by choreographer Luna Cenere is now online. Open to everyone aged 18 and over, with or without experience.
Would you like to live an experience discovering your body and how you relate to it?
From October 16th to 26th, with the free workshop curated by Luna Cenere, you can take part in a community experience open to all ages, 18 and up, and all bodies, with or without experience in the field of art and performance. An opportunity to encounter your most authentic self and, through movement, connect with others.
THE WORKSHOP: WHAT IS INHABITANTS?
Inhabitants (English) / Abitanti (Italian), ‘in-’ to be inside, place of the inhabitant, to inhabit clothes.
The workshop addresses the theme of the body and its place in the world in relation to others through the sharing of dialogue practices, theoretical materials, images, listening practices, contact, and conscious movement.
If we think of clothes as a social mask linked to a standard of beauty and perfection that’s quietly agreed upon and accepted but totally disconnected from our true selves, the practices we’ll experiment during the workshop will try to reconnect our bodies to their most real and authentic parts.
An action of cultural unmasking to see our real clothes.
THE PERFORMATIVE OUTCOME
The workshop will end with two public performances at DAS – Dispositivo Arti Sperimentali on Saturday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m.
THE THEME
Exploring themes related to the body and its relationship with the internal and external worlds, Luna Cenere has developed a series of physical practices designed to expose social habits, ways of thinking, and perspectives that are the result of preconceptions linked to physicality. Making space for deep listening to the body allows us to generate postures and gestures that can be the means to embrace our most authentic self and empathize with that of others.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The workshop is free.
It begins on October 16th and ends on October 26th with a public performance in two acts.
It is open to everyone aged 18 and over.
No experience in the arts or performing arts is necessary to participate.
Participation in all days of the workshop is required in order to create a cohesive group and ensure the success of the experience.
