Accessibility at Gender Bender Festival 2025
Since the beginning, Gender Bender has explored the plurality of bodies and life experiences through artistic languages and the theoretical and practical training that underpins every path of experimentation and learning.
For several years now, we have been working to improve the accessibility of our events and communications. The goal is to enable everyone to enjoy art and culture in a satisfying way.
For this edition, we are committed to:
- communicating the accessibility (and non-accessibility) aspects of spaces and events by displaying accessibility icons for each event;
- simplifying (where possible) the text of the program in terms of content and layout to make it easier to read and understand;
- making 8 festival events accessible to deaf audiences through LIS interpretation.
Over the years, we have collaborated with other cultural organizations committed to accessibility, gratefully welcoming all suggestions for improving and making our festival more accessible as a source of enrichment. We would like to thank those who have accompanied us on this journey over the various editions: Al.Di.Qua Artists, Cooperativa Accaparlante, Gruppo Elettrogeno, Sim Marchesini, ENS Emilia-Romagna, ENS Bologna, Bar Senza Nome, Comitato Lovegiver.
We believe in culture and art as opportunities to create spaces for dialogue and discussion, which is why it is necessary to guarantee anyone who wishes to do so the opportunity to participate in building a more aware, open, and respectful society.
We recommend consulting the program available on the website: for each event, accessibility icons are indicated, as well as the presence or absence of restrooms and architectural barriers, and trigger warnings for shows that require them.
